Washington DC

The R.E. Lee Camp will march in the nation’s largest Memorial Day parade in the heart of the Nation’s Capital. All units who have joined with us in prior years are committed to join us again in this 4th Sesquicentennial Year of the War Between The States.  Make plans to join us or attend and cheer on our demonstration of Southern Heritage.  Compatriots, we must use this unrestricted opportunity to fly our Battle Flags on the streets of Washington D.C.  What Jubal Early could not achieve, we have and will with honor and dignity demonstrate again this year.  This sets the precedent of legitimacy we will establish now and forever. The National Memorial Day Parade will step off at the corner of Constitution Avenue and 7th Streets, NW at 2:00 PM. It will proceed west down Constitution, past the White House, ending at 17th Street. Details may be found at http://www.nationalmemorialdayparade.com/. We will meet at Daingerfield Island, the Washington Sailing Marina right off the George Washington Parkway above Alexandria by National Airport at 11 AM. The van will leave at 11:15 AM for our meeting point at the National Mall between 4th and 7th Streets NW near the rear entrance of the National Gallery of Art. Please consider stepping forward and joining the ranks of the camp’s Color Guard. Do your ancestor(s) proud and march with the Flags of the South.
