Our speaker will be Mr. Don Hakenson who is a Vietnam-era Air Force veteran, an award winning and well known author and producer of Civil War books and a Mosby documentary, a most eloquent and entertaining speaker, and a member of our camp. He will speak on Confederates Buried in Ivy Hill Cemetery, Alexandria, Virginia.” The social hour will begin around 6:00 PM (our events are BYOB).

  • The famous Confederate spy who set up a spy network in Alexandria; married a local girl from Alexandria after the war and came back to live in Alexandria after the War Between the States.
  • The man that Brigadier General Montgomery Corse said after the war, “No officer in my command had a higher reputation for courage and capability.”
  • The Secretary of Confederate President Jefferson Davis and who he married.
  • The commander of the Seventeenth Virginia who helped establish one of the oldest banks in Alexandria.
  • The spy and scout who reported directly to Jeb Stuart and General Robert E. Lee in person.
  • Some of the greatest heroes and warriors from the City of Alexandria.
